I think there is. There are to many people, to many groups and to many “corporations” involved not to call it an industry…and of course way to much money in it for its leaders. I mean what would Al Sharpton and Jesse “cut his <bleep> off” Jackson do if racism was all but eradicated in this country? Sharpton actually looks moderate these days compared to Jackson who now just comes off as a bitter old man who grasps desperately to get in the spotlight. Would they go back to their “churces” or would they have to go out and get real jobs like the rest of us and actually earn a living instead of getting paid to sit on some talk show spouting hateful words and stirring up controversy where their is none.
Don’t get me wrong, there is and always be racist people in the world. It will never end. But at what point do we as Americans say ok this is as good as it is going to get and we need to move on and look at other issues? Will that ever happen? I don’t think it will as long as people are making money by keeping racism and it’s “issues” at the forefront. Are we not just adding fuel to the fire that is racism by continually talking about it and bringing it up or at the very least keeping alive? Do people like Jeremiah Wright actually help the situation or make it worse? I know what I think…what do you think?
The ad from Obama and the Dems (link below) say we need a “better Christian witness in politics”. Are you kidding me? The ad says we are supposed to listen to what a man says because “out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks”. This is supposed to be a quote from Luke 6:45.
However if you take the entire verse in context it says:
“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”
I would hate to say it but I think the things coming out of Sen. Obama’s heart are the evil things the Bible speaks of above. So I would agree we need to listen to what comes out of his mouth concerning ALL the topics he talks about and judge those things by their fruit as we are instructed to do.
The next verse after this really says it all in regards to Obama. It says:
“And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”
From a purely Biblical stand point if you put the platforms of both parties in a side by side comparisons the Republicans will come out on the side more in line with Biblical truth then the Dems every single time. There is no argument to that.
Obama often quotes and misquotes scripture (as done in the radio ad below) and it drives me crazy because he makes half truths out of what he is trying to say and never keeps the scripture in its full context. I mean from a man who says the sermon on the mount says being gay is ok? WHAT! So he is saying Jesus said to the masses that being gay is fine? Has he never read the Bible? He says he doesn’t know what will happen to him when he dies but yet calls himself a Christian? Seriously? Like the article says, “we will know them by their fruits”.
Point blank I don’t see how Christians can vote for this guy. Now I don’t really know how we can vote for the other guy either but there really is no comparison. If Christians should judge all things by the word then I just don’t get it. There is no argument as to why you should vote for him. The only thing I hear him say as to why Christians want to vote for him is because he wants to help the poor. That is great, lots of Republicans want to help the poor also. Do you then sacrifice all the rest that the Bible instructs us to do in the name of “helping the poor”? Is that the Great Commission? To “help the poor”? No, its not.
Now we all know you don’t have to be a Christian to be President but if you are going to push yourself as one and campaign on that fact then you need to stop lying about it. This false feel good “christianity” that pastors and politicians are pushing is downright evil and we need to be very skeptical about it. Don’t get me started on Rick Warren and his upcoming “debate” he is having for the candidates at his church.
There is no such thing as “global warming”. Prove it to me.
If we are arrogant enough to think we can warm the earth than why don’t we just cool it down? Why don’t we all just leave our doors and windows open year around and we can cool the earth in the summer and heat it in the winter. We can just start controlling the climate…we seem to think we already do.
Check this out…
” There are ominous signs that the Earth’s weather patterns have begun to change dramatically and that these changes may portend a drastic decline in food production — with serious political implications for just about every nation on Earth…The evidence insupport of these predictions has now begun to accumulate so massively that meteorologists are hard-pressed to keep up with it…Climatologists are pessimistic that political leaders will take any positive action to compensate for the climatic change, or even to allay its effects…The longer the planners delay, the more difficult will they find it to cope with climatic change once the results become grim reality”
This is a story from the 1975 Newsweek article discussing the massive evidence of the coming ICE AGE due to climate change. This based on drastic cooling trends since the 30’s. Just 20 years ago we were all going to freeze to death and starve because of the cold. They had PROOF!!
C’mon…really! Warming now? This is purely political there is absolutely NO PROOF. The only thing they screwed up in the last ice age scare was they put to short of a time line on it. They learned their lesson and now the global warming nuts say that we will not see any “real” effects for 30 years. This gives them 30 years of time to push their agenda…whatever it is without having to take any real questions.
Ok. So Barry has said that he is for homosexual “marriage” and thinks that the Constitutional amendment on the ballot in California is wrong and it is discriminatory.
So if the citizens of CA have already voted, over 60%, to make it law that marriage is between one man and one woman and yet 4 judges decided that the people of California are wrong, what does that say about Obama and his belief that the people do not know what is best for them but that he and the govt. should decide?
He has said that the states and the federal govt. should allow gay marriage and is against any sort of legislation or constitutional amendments to make it illegal. I won’t even touch the fact that he calls himself a “christian”. Whatever.
Are you ready to give up your say and just let Obama and his judges decide what is best for you? I am not quite that comfortable given the things he stands for and how they directly contradict with what I believe in.
but I can’t stand a flip-flopper. You know we all change our mind on things as we gain more insight or get better acquainted with the facts. But there is a big difference in changing your mind and pandering to whatever audience you are in front of. Now I am not a big fan of John McCain, but at least I know where he stands and for the most part know that he not going to be changing his mind every time he steps in front of a crowd.
It seems Sen. Obama has really started to change his mind on a lot of things since he wrapped up the nomination. Iraq in particular is troubling to me and his disgust and then praising of the surge that we all know was a great success. He is running to the middle if you ask me now that he has little or no use of the far left nut jobs. Granted he will need them come November but we know that their seething hate for all things conservative will keep them in his corner no matter how much they whine.
So what do you think? Is he flip-flopping and pandering or is he just changing his mind? Check this out while you think about it.
This might be a bit deep of a question for a Monday morning but it does require some thought. If your core values do not come from the Bible or another religion then how do you as an individual decide what is right and what is wrong? Do you let society dictate your value system? If so, where does society get its morality? I know lots of people that say they get their morality from the Bible but yet pick and choose what they think is God inspired and what is just some writer telling us to do. To me that dog won’t hunt. How can a person believe some to be true and other parts not? It is funny that most of the time the things people pick out of the Bible are just the feel good happy parts. Nothing about judgement or sin or anything that might make them feel bad.
“We contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.”
When was the last time we were taxed into prosperity? Was it 1977 during the Carter administration? Nope that didn’t seem to work. Although Barrack Obama is trying his best to resurrect those failed policies of Jimmy Carter. The plain fact is that Democrats love big government programs and those programs take money. Interestingly enough a Democrat controlled Congress has not balanced a budget in 34 years, yet all we hear about is the rising deficit. They have been in power for coming on two years and for the branch of government that holds the “purse strings” they sure have not done much to tighten them up. Wonder why this is? Perhaps they are playing election year politics? Nah!
Since I am in the mood to quote today I will give another:
“I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on the objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.” – James Madison
“The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.” – Alexis de Tocqueville
To listen to Tocqueville we have already lost the great Republic. Are we not constantly bribed using our own money? From social handouts to feel good programs that do not help but rather perpetuate problems. Why are we as Americans so blind to see the wrong in taxes? Ok, maybe not all taxes but the amount and far reaching types of taxes we pay here in this country is just wrong. What do you think about this?
Either way we need a new plan for taxes and hiring Barrack Obama to tax us into prosperity is not going to work. Personnaly I am with Gov. Huckabee on the issues of taxes.
Funny actually that the Mayans thought the end of the world would be in December 2012. You think this might have something to do with the end of Obama’s first term as President and leader of the free world? Well at least it will have been a free world when he takes office…you all know how Socialism leads to Communism.
I just don’t understand the hypocrisy of the left. Every time a liberal starts to cry that “4000 have died since the start of the war!” I cringe. How about crying out about the 7,500,000 who have died since the war started in 2003. What about them? Why don’t you cry about their lives cut short? They were not even volunteers! They did not go willing! Let’s look even further back when we made it legal to kill them. 40,000,000 have been killed since we as good and understanding Americans decided it was in our country’s best interest to kill our own future.
How can you cry about the 4000 when there have been 40,000,000 since Roe? Honestly, tell me, I just can’t grasp that hypocrisy! It really leads me to believe that they don’t care for the born or the unborn. It is just about politics to them.
Why, why, why. Why am I surrounded by a bunch of liberals who refuse to view history as it should be…as fact. Why do they want to deny what really happened? This current election/political season has given me an opportunity here at work to discuss a WHOLE lot of issues that I feel pasionate about. The problem is that those I discuss with argue mostly from ignorance. Why don’t people do any research anymore on what is going on in the world, or better yet what has gone on in the past. I am starting this blog in hopes of geeting some feedback on why people think the way they do. Our topics here have covered race, religion, abortion, social security, social programs, handouts, the homosexual agenda, immigration and of course the military and the current war. As our discussions come up I will try my best to post some of the arguments both for and against topics such as those above. Help me out if you feel like it and let me know what topics are hot where you work because in the end I am doing this because I WANT MY COUNTRY BACK!
