I think Winston Churchill said it best in :
“We contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.”
When was the last time we were taxed into prosperity? Was it 1977 during the Carter administration? Nope that didn’t seem to work. Although Barrack Obama is trying his best to resurrect those failed policies of Jimmy Carter. The plain fact is that Democrats love big government programs and those programs take money. Interestingly enough a Democrat controlled Congress has not balanced a budget in 34 years, yet all we hear about is the rising deficit. They have been in power for coming on two years and for the branch of government that holds the “purse strings” they sure have not done much to tighten them up. Wonder why this is? Perhaps they are playing election year politics? Nah!
Since I am in the mood to quote today I will give another:
“I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on the objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.”
– James Madison
“The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.”
– Alexis de Tocqueville
To listen to Tocqueville we have already lost the great Republic. Are we not constantly bribed using our own money? From social handouts to feel good programs that do not help but rather perpetuate problems. Why are we as Americans so blind to see the wrong in taxes? Ok, maybe not all taxes but the amount and far reaching types of taxes we pay here in this country is just wrong. What do you think about this?
Either way we need a new plan for taxes and hiring Barrack Obama to tax us into prosperity is not going to work. Personnaly I am with Gov. Huckabee on the issues of taxes.

I believe Winston was referring to a state of what we call an INCOME TAX. Which almost all REPUBLICANS SUPORT. Heck you even want a FLAT TAX. Learn your stuff. Its not so much on the surface as you think.

Yet another reason why I dont call myself a Republican but rather a conservative. Income tax is the remnant of a failed policy. It is the wrong solution to the problem.
What are your suggestions to the tax burdens we face here in America?
